Young Alumni Group

The Young Alumni Group (YAG) was established to raise awareness for the Campaign amongst our more recent graduates.

The Chair of the Group, Natalie Salunke (Eliot, 2002), says:

“I was honoured to be asked to Chair this important fundraising group as it has given me the opportunity to give something back to the University which provided me with so much. This campaign will make a huge difference to future students and the local community in a time when access to legal advice is diminishing. I experienced first-hand the difference the Law Clinic has made to the local community – it felt amazing to win the case for my first client! The new building will help more students experience this sense of achievement and allow more people to be helped.”

Sponsored Events
A number of our alumni and friends have taken part in sponsored events.

Natalie Salunke completed the 50km Thames Path Challenge for the Campaign

Anna Pollard ran the Virgin London Marathon for the Campaign
Anna Pollard said after her amazing achievement: “The Kent Law Campaign is a fantastic project and one which I am fully behind.  Set up in 1972, the Kent Law Clinic was the first of its kind in a UK Law School and since then it has helped hundreds of people who need but cannot afford access to legal services. When I received my ballot place for the 2012 Virgin London Marathon I knew I wanted to run to raise money for the Law Campaign.  I am not a runner and was met with sniggers when I told family and friends that I had secured a place – I proved them wrong and completed the race in 05:21:17 and raised over £5,000 for the Campaign!  It was an amazing experience and I would urge everybody to take up a personal challenge to raise valuable funds for this worthy cause.”
